Oppo is rumored to be in the development of a new smartwatch with a measure of electrocardiogram (ECG)technology similar to the Apple Watch. Oppo announced its plans to launch a new smartwatch along with smart wireless headphones and a 5G custom-provided equipment (CPE), in the first half of 2020 in its Inno Day 2019 conference in Shenzhen. Brian Shen, Oppo Vice President also took a dig at Xiaomi’s Mi Watch for its design that is similar to the Apple Watch models.
A tipster from China has shared on Weibo that the Oppo smartwatch would come with a feature to measure ECG. He also mentioned that it would come in a square design.
Certainly, Oppo will not be the first company to produce an ECG-measuring smartwatch. We have various smartwatches in the market with similar functionality. This ECG-measure smartwatch trend started with the Apple Watch Series 4, and the other popular smartwatches with ECG support are Apple Watch Series 5, Amazfit Verge 2, and Samsung Galaxy Active 2.
Oppo Vice President Shen proposed its smartwatch development and highlighted the benefits of choosing for a rectangular dial over a circular dial.
The tipster doesn’t specify any details about the Oppo smartwatch launch. However, the company announced that the Oppo Smartwatches would debut in the first quarter of this year in its Inno Day 2019 conference. For more Technology Updates, users can stay connected with this page.
