US-based tech giant Google has announced that it will discontinue John Legend’s voice for Assistant voice on March 23.
“#HeyGoogle, entertain me one more time”. Enjoy the Google Assistant voice of cameo @JohnLegend before it finishes on March 23, the company tweeted on Friday.
The company unveiled for Assistant celebrity voices at Google I/O 2018 with musician John Legend.
Verge said that Google never intended to keep the voice cameo forever. The company previously noted that this feature would run for a limited time, but it never specified how long it would last.
Google will continue to offer celebrity, Issa Rae, as a choice according to the article, who wants a celebrity voice as your Google Assistant over the regular choices.
Additionally, Google has also started rolling out its ‘ Read Out Loud ‘ article-reading app, which works with 42 languages across the globe in all Android smartphone users. You can simply use this feature by saying: “Hey Google, read it” or “Hey Google, read this page” for the assistant to read the text on the screen.
The screen also highlights the text that Google Assistant is currently reading so users can follow along on the page as it is being read out loud. Users can alter the reading speed and choose from multiple voices. Users can check here for the latest technology updates and news here.
